Before you start<\/h2>\n\n\n

Use a healthy umbrella head with a short length of stem attached. Trim damaged bracts with clean scissors.<\/p>\n\n\n

Gather a labelled pot with drainage, clean scissors and fresh propagation mix. Unwrap the cutting on arrival and check that the stem is firm and sound.<\/p>\n\n\n

Plant-specific notes<\/h2>\n\n\n

Trim the umbrella bracts if needed to fit a clean jar. Invert the head so its centre touches clean water. Wait for shoots and roots before potting into moist mix.<\/p>\n\n\n

Setting up the cutting<\/h2>\n\n\n

Place the umbrella head upside down in a clean shallow jar of water in bright indirect light. Keep the centre in contact with water and refresh it when cloudy. Keep the jar warm and out of direct sun.<\/p>\n\n\n
